These parents (bio father and stepmom) were on Megyn today.

- a 14 year old AFAB daughter in Montana was taken by the state child services bc she proclaimed she was a boy. Counselors called and referred to the daughter as a he, so the parents said no, we don’t support transgender based on our beliefs.
- the child has been in some welfare center in Wyoming since Sept. The parents are concerned bc kids can go ahead and get “reaffirming surgery” without parental approval in these situations
- eventually the child will be released to go live in Canada with her biological mom, who she doesn’t really know at all

It's behind a paywall so I can't read it, but the NY Times actually allowed one of their opinion writers to publish a long piece about detransitioners and the dangers of the "always affirm" ideology that has captured the pediatric medical/psychological world.

They're obviously very late to the party here, but it's good that they published this despite likely being part of the problem for years.
