DES MOINES, Iowa (WHO) — Police in Iowa arrested one of the men they say was responsible for a terrifying robbery of a woman who had just won a significant amount of money at Prairie Meadows Casino.
The victim won two jackpots at the casino totaling more than $10,000, Sgt. Paul Parizek of the Des Moines Police Department said. She was driving home early Tuesday morning when her car was forced off the road by two vehicles.
Police said 30-year-old Timothy Spencer, of Berwick, was driving one of those vehicles. Spencer allegedly had a handgun when he exited the vehicle and hit the driver-side window of the victim’s vehicle, shattering it. Parizek said Spencer then opened the door and grabbed the victim’s purse, which contained her winnings from the casino.
I think something similar happened at a Columbus casino but they followed the victim all the way home to rob him.
Which was it, a significant amount or $10,000? /everyone mj knows
2 years ago today. Only time in my life that I've actually found weather to be frightening:
That is really cool, I mean besides the damage caused.
The only two time I have been frightened by weather:
1. I was on a golf course in Orlando. Huge storm rolled in as we were on 17. The sky turned green, and there was lightning around. We were walking so we ran into the clubhouse. Was completely drenched by the time I was off the course.
2. Another golf course incident. Playing golf in Sunbury, Ohio. UEM may know where I mean. Another storm rolled in and lightning struck a tree about 500 feet away. Weird electricity feeling in the air. We hid in a shelter on the course while it blew over. I have never messed with staying on a course when there may be lightning in an area after that incident.
ETA: I guess there were a few times driving in blizzards were pretty harrowing.
