Heading into the bottom of the sixth, Pittsburgh led 9-2 and seemed on the way to evening the series at two games apiece. But the Brewers had other ideas as they totaled four in the sxth, two in the seventh, and four again in the eighth to go up 3-1.
Paul Molitor homered and drove in four while Ted Simmons had three hits and three ribbies. Cecil Cooper added three hits, a homer, and two RBI, as well.
Mark Brouhard's pinch hit single in the top of the tenth gave the Brwers their second straight win and a 3-2 series advantage.
Gormon Thomas, Ben Oglivie, and Charlie Moore each had three hits for the Brew Crew while Pittsburgh was paced by Barry Bonds who blasted a three-run homer in the sixth. Rollie Fingers worked the bottom of the eleventh for the save.

A five-run fifth highlighted by a bases-clearing three-run double by Ben Oglivie followed by a two-run homer from Ted Simmons was enough to propel the Brwers to the series-clinching victory holding off a late comeback by the Pirates.
Simmons earned player of the game honors with two homers and four RBI with Oglivie adding three ribeyes. Moose Haas went seven innings to earn the win while Jim Slaton recorded the final four outs for the save.
Don Mincher hit a three-run homer in the fifth and Harmon Killebrew laced a two-run shot off the foul pole in the seventh to push the Twins to a 6-1 lead before the Angels made them sweat scoring four in the ninth. Jim Perry, brother of Gaylord, tossed five innings of one-run ball to pick up the win.
Mudcat Grant threw eight innings of four-hit shutout ball before Al Worthington secured the save with a 1-2-3 ninth. Solo home runs from Earl Battey and Jimmie Hall accounted for the Twins runs.
Tha Angels got back into the series behind Garrett Anderson who collected three hits, two runs, and one ribbie in the win including a homer. Kevin Appier got the win despite allowing five runs in five innings thanks to a trio of relievers who shut down the Twins offense in the final four innings.
Trailing 4-1 after six, the Angels scored two in the seventh and one each in the eighth and ninth for the walk-off win knotting the series at two games apiece.
Bengie Molina got the game-winning hit, his third of the contest, plating Garrett Anderson and victimizing reliever Bill Pleis.
Returning home, the Twins grabbed a 3-2 series advantage behind Jim Perry who allowed only one run through six innings. Zoilo Versalles (I swear that's his name), Rich Rollins, and Jerry Kindal each plated two runs apiece to lead the hitting attack.
Following back-to-back walks to open the inning, Adam Kennedy served up a walk-off single to center to force a game seven. Brad Fullmer led the Angels attack driving in three runs including a homer. Tim Salmon also socked one out.
The Twins jumped on Kevin Appier early scoring one in the first and four in the third including a three-run shot by Jimmie Hall to make it a 5-1 game. Minnesota led 6-2 entering the ninth, but the Angels made things tense scoring three runs and loading the bases before Al Worthington caught David Eckstein looking and K'ed Bengie Molina swinging. Hall got help in the win from Don Mincher who drove in two. Camilo Pascual picked up the win throwing seven innings of two-run ball.
