Finished The Batman last night. Enjoyed it for the most part, too long but moved at a pretty good clip. Twilight guy made a pretty decent Batman. Zoe Kravitz is absurdly attractive.
Also the wife and I watched See How They Run on Saturday, basically an Agatha Christie movie revolving around a murder at an Agatha Christie play. Pretty entertaining. Sam Rockwell was really good.
Saw Black Panther Wakanda Forever last night with my oldest and his friend. Posting in this thread because this is a FILM, not a mere superhero movie.
Kidding, it's just the most recent thread in this section.
General stuff:
Positives first: Cast is incredible. Jarring to watch a movie where the top 5 heroes/protagonists are women (and black women at that), but it doesn't feel forced like some of the "let's have the women team up" moments from Endgame. Still love Lupita Nyong'o. The main woman who plays Shuri is solid. Angela Bassett is really good in a role where it felt like she didn't have that much to do in the first one. Winston Duke is awesome as well. Kind of too bad he's such a physically huge actor, because he could be really good in comedies.
The guy who plays Namor is really good as well. Some of the Atlantans (they're not from Atlantis in the movie, but I can't think of the name of the city) stuff is a little long, but it's very cool visually. I like that they kind of play into the dorkiness of the guy being able to fly because he has little tiny wings on his ankles.
The tributes to Boseman work well. The opening logo thing being nothing but Boseman clips was really cool, and there's a scene towards the end where there are some flashbacks to him was a nice tribute as well.
Negatives/nitpicks Only major negative is that holy shit is this movie long. Even sitting in a comfortable movie seat, my ass was getting sore by the end.
Some of the nighttime shots are really hard to see, like they hired the GOT cinematographer.
I'm 99% sure that one of the new Dora Milaje actresses is an actual alien.
Riri didn't fully work for me. Had some funny lines, the actress was good, just didn't completely feel it.
Martin Freeman and JLD were kind of wasted? I feel like they could have cut a huge chunk of their roles and maybe streamlined the movie a little.
Overall, definitely one of the best recent Marvel movies. Tries to do too much, but they had to basically stack a tribute onto an actual movie, so I think they did it about as well as they could have.
{Spoiler} I thought Killmonger being the person on the ancestral plane worked really well, and I'm someone who thought MJB in the original was a little overrated. Cool surprise that somehow wasn't spoiled at all for me going into the movie.
End credits--unfortunately I did see that they were going to reveal T'Challa's son. I like how much they tied it to some of the loose ends that the movie left dangling, especially why Lupita wasn't at the funeral (and therefore missing for the first half of the movie).

i thought the movie sucked and so did all 3 of my kids. It’s way too long and way too boring. The only white characters in it are all evil, with the exception of the one guy who they call “the colonizer”. Easily one of the worst Marvel movies I have ever seen.
Watched Slumberland on Netflix last night with the family. Jason Momoa is entertaining, the Irish cop from Bridesmaid is the other adult lead, the kid actor does a good job. Enjoyable family flick, would recommend it to FIF members with kids.
Also, the bad guy is a black woman and there aren't any LGTBQ characters, so I'd recommend it to Jim
Bros is on Peacock. I watched about 30 minutes. Pretty good film. The main character (Billy Eichner) is an lgbt podcaster and he is an angry gay. He goes on a date with this really hot guy he meets at a club. Billy likes the hot guy but the hot guy is more of a mimbo, doesn’t really want a relationship. So at the end of this date, instead of going up to Billy’s apt, Billy and his date go to this other gay couples house for an orgy.
the next scene is Billy and his date sitting on the couch while both men of the other couple are sucking Billy’s dates dick at the same time. Billy seems annoyed and leaves. Note: you don’t see wang, sorry wolf.
that’s where I stopped. I’ll finish later this week.

finished it. It’s so terrible. Debra Messing is in it.
the movie got worse as it went on
This is a legitimate bad movie. I looked at rotten tomatoes and it’s like 90% on user previews but I read many of the previews that hated it, so that number seems fake.
