So you want him to call his superstar friends and decide where to go to win a championship?  Very inconsistent of you.

I never said that. But once he earned to opportunity to test free agency and chose to stay put in friggin Anaheim, that's all I needed to see to know how badly he wants to win.

And don't get me wrong, that's fine. Some athletes are wired this way. But I will never take him seriously as a competitor.

One of the problems with Trout is that he is so consistently good, but does almost nothing on a spectacular level.

He'll have a good average, but never up near .370.
He'll steal more bases than he should, but never really get up into the 50-range (except his second season).
He'll hit a lot of homers but never really challenge 60 in a year.
He'll hit 40+ homers but most of them seem to travel 421 feet, never a 450-500-footer.
Rarely has diving catches, but is known as a very good defender.

I imagine that it is a lot like watching Hank Aaron. Guy is just good, but never produces a highlight. It's kinda crazy.

He's now been in the big leagues for nine years, and he has never had three straight games where he hasn't gotten on base. That's legit mind-blowing.
