How’s that equal pay talk now, you mouthy communist bitches?
They’ve made history with a giant win for women and girls everywhere, and you’re denigrating them for losing one game. Real fucking cool, I hope you enjoy your patriarchy for another 500 years.

Massive at the reply tweet in Jim's post.
At least they've got that hard earned Arthur Ashe courage ESPY to fall back on.
Their performance was reminiscent of the 2004 US men's basketball team at the Olympics--lots of talent but shoddy coaching and the rest of the world did/has caught up to the previous dominance by the US team. The USWNT can't just go out and out-talent teams any longer.
But all we'll hear about from the media is how much they've inspired people because we've become a giant vagina of a country would rather hug each other than win at anything and nobody wants to pass criticism on this particular group.

Simone Biles can present them with an overcoming adversity award

I can get down with someone having anxiety issues and it becoming such a distraction that it affects their ability to function--and having high expectations (of yourself and from others) and not being able to live up to them is valid. HOWEVAH, that's part of the cost of being an exceptional athlete--it's the old 'with great power comes great responsibility' thing.
But the Megan Rapinoe stuff has just gotten tiresome. When your ability to perform is affected by your interests off the court/field/whatever to the point your 'best' memory isn't winning the greatest competition in your sport then why are you on the team? I get that you want to use your platform to inspire others but what good is that if you can't perform to the highest level expected of you? Athletes shouldn't be heroes--Barkley was right about that. The purpose of sport is entertainment--I'd rather watch Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods destroy someone in competition.

agreed on both points, the Simone Biles thing was just irritating because everyone fell over themselves praising her for not competing and all that praise should have gone to the gymnast(s) who were thrust into unexpected roles and still managed to succeed

How much does the winning team at the Women's WC make I wonder
Google tells me about $10.5 million. I may not be good at the maths but that's less than what the USMNT made losing in the round of 16. I think the round of 16 happens much earlier than the championship if I'm not mistaken.

Are you trying to tell me that there’s significantly more money made in the men’s game?
