This isn’t about teachers, but office staff. Some of the women that work in the office are giant pains, assholes, or just idiots. Here are 2 examples from this week of my PTO dealings with them:
- one meant to email a teacher to let her know that a PTO grant had been approved. She left the teacher off and emailed people on the PTO instead. I emailed her and said hey, did you mean to send this to the teacher instead? Obviously this is confusing, so she had to call me about it. But instead of calling me, called my husband multiple times. He saw the schools number and had to step out of class to take it, thinking it was an emergency. Like, why? Stupid and just annoying. And happens a lot. 1. Don’t call me when it can be an email and 2. Update the numbers so you don’t call my husband (I have told them this multiple times). - I am running the trunk or treat this weekend. I asked for donations of candy and put a bin in the office. Today I went to pick it up and the secretary informed me that they had opened it up because “they couldn’t help themselves.” I have literally hundreds of bags of candy sitting at my house for this event and even my kids know not to touch it. Like wtf.

My wife has had similar complaints about them over the years. They seem annoying, and I can't imagine how frustrating it must be to be on the PTO.

My wife is refusing to go to the elementary trunk or treat this year. She's basically dropped out of all PTO stuff as a result of last year--she agreed to help out with the trunk or treat and every single other parent that agreed to help bailed on it. So, my kids had to go help her get set up and then she took tickets at one entrance and I took them at the other. It was cold and people just bitched about it being slow--imagine that when no one actually shows up to help run the thing.
Anyway, I'm taking the kids and she said she's going to sit at home on the couch. I think it's very justified.

just looking to keep track here….in both Magnum and Dong’s stories…..how many stupid or inconsiderate actions were done by men? How many were done by women? TYIA

I mean...no men even bothered to volunteer (including me) so I'm not sure men get let off scot-free in mine.
He's right, obviously. I've literally never met an inconsiderate man in my life.
to not volunteer is one thing
To volunteer and cancel is another
To open up candy that doesn’t belong to you because you can’t “help yourself” is another
Ya know, ya could not disagree with my 100% of the time
Sorry for thinking that, "Oh, someone mentioned a woman doing something bad so I'm gonna jump in and make a snarky comment about how much women suck" is an exhausting schtick.

is it? Thank you. Glad to help you get some well needed rest then.
Hi. A man signed up to help trunk or treat and then dropped out. Sorry I didn’t add that to my initial rant about the office staff eating my candy.
this does go to 76's belief that people in education are children. What adult can't resist opening a bag of candy that is being used for trunk or treat?
I think the one office worker just wanted to talk to Mr. Mags over you.
