I said that because I read your comment as though you remembered me saying something about the show. I have no clue what the show is about (a video game but never played the game and no clue what the plot or aynthing is). Is it even fantasy? I don't think it is but again, who knows? Not me.
You have no one to blame but yourself for assuming that his original post was based in any sort of logic.
You're right, I made up the fact that you regularly attribute things to completely random posters. That's really not your cup of tea, as chrisco always says.
Not in this case.
lDot knows why. We DM about how gay he is for liking GoT. This seems like another gay show to pretend to like.
first of all, you were DM'ing about being gay for liking HotD
Second, Kenny Powers pitched for the Myrtle Beach Mermen, a fake team that doesn't exist, why you so into fantasy, fag?
Really good, not great. Nice follow up to The Wire but not at that level.
Pros: The cast overall is great. Berthal is the main guy but even people that aren't necessarily the crux of the story like the investigating "good" cops are excellent. I guess the closest thing to a primary good guy is the DOJ attorney pursuing the consent decree is really good and grew on me as the series went on. Some of the most realistic court/police interrogation stuff that I've ever seen. The proffer sessions with the potential cooperating witnesses are 100% spot on. Looking back here, I thought they structured the timelines pretty well with the log sheets showing the older Wayne Jenkins stuff.
Cons: They got a little too cute with it at times. Way more "on the nose" monologues about the war on drugs and stuff with Freddie Gray than they ever got into with The Wire. There were a couple speeches in this show that stuck out awkwardly (we're losing the war on drugs!), which I don't remember EVER feeling like that in The Wire. I know this is more of a cop vs cop thing but none of the drug/criminal/street side of this show were anywhere near as interesting as The Wire. Some of the casting is weird--this is 99% directed at Josh Charles from SportsNight as the really bad bad-ass cop, which always felt forced and not even remotely believable.

I remember watching this a while ago and en joying it, but I have almost zero recollection of any details. That tells me it wasn't that great.

You’re a 74 year old pothead. Forgetting details doesn’t mean the show was bad.

I'm 84, and I've moved onto fentanyl. My point is that I remember lots of details from other shows I watch and for some reason this one isn't coming back to me. I'm also a huge fan of The Wire and can quote and remember almost everything about it. I stand by my "wasn't that great" taek.

You are correct. 79’s review has a lot of good points.
His Josh Charles take is spot on. He really wasn’t in the series that much which caused me to wonder why he took the part. I wonder if he was so bad that a lot of his scenes ended up on the cutting room floor.
Who watched The Last of Us last night? Absolutely phenomenal 1st episode staying true to the game with some added extras for the sake of story telling. I am excited for the season!
I was losing it the entire time!!! So many shot for shot remade sequences, all the little details done right.... SO good
I know it really was. Some of the show looked like it was cut scenes straight from the game
HBO does it again
Even though I know what happens, it broke me at certain parts all over again
