Sparked by our recent shoutbox convo, I've put away the ol' brew pot and switched back to Keurig using regular coffee in a re-useable cup.
Here's something, though. I hate unpacking the grounds to make the next cup. My current procedure is to bang the cup on the side of a garbage can (nearly the same way I do your mom).
Anyway, following the theory that you give the toughest jobs to the laziest people because they will find the easiest way to do them, I wonder....
What is your method for clearing the packed grounds from the cup?

TY for your query! I am humbled and honored for the opportunity to discuss this topic. Do you have a garbage disposal? My method is to bang the cup in the sink, then run it under water for a few seconds to rinse out the rest, and the disposal will take care of the grounds in the drain. I agree that having to clean it out for each cup is a bit of a pain, but it works for me.
Seeing this thread reminds me that when I was in upstate NY last week, my buddy and his wealthy wife had a new coffee/espresso machine that produced easily the best coffee I've ever had, and it wasn't close. I texted him to get the details and now I know what the upper class uses to make their coffee. Farva, your move.

I'm not sure how similar they are. The one I posted has a huge hopper for whole beans, a grinder and a large tank of water. When you wake up you can literally push a button an get a fantastic cup of coffee in about 30 seconds. If I had crazy money, I would buy one today.
We have a little heavier-duty one at the office because we go through several pots per day. I believe we get whatever the store brand is from Costco for the office.

I actually had to request that we get a coffee maker at this firm as a lot of non-mormons asked for it during early morning depositions.
