The schools don't have to shut it down. But they can potentially be sued about it. So does that effectively shut it down because the schools are worried about litigation?

While I still don't see it as anywhere near as dangerous as CNN and Jessica Chastain would have you believe, I've actually started leaning more towards thinking this Florida bill is completely unnecessary and the distractions it creates from frivolous lawsuits aren't really worth whatever it "saves" by keeping things out of curriculum that aren't in most curriculum to begin with.
That being said... I think this guy truly believes that the official name of the bill is "Don't Say Gay" and it is now illegal to say the word "gay" in Florida.

A personal injury attorney in Florida who allegedly drove over four people with her car because she was hearing voices in her head has been suspended from the state Bar.
Witnesses claim Ms Bijoux was driving her car outside The Fresh Market in Stuart, Florida, on 22 February when she allegedly began running people down with her car by driving on the sidewalk. They said the attack began when Ms Bijoux ran her car over a curb and smashed into a table outside the story, sending an individual flying into a concrete wall. Another vicim told CBS 12 News that she did not see her car coming before she was hit.
Police reviewed security footage, which showed a black KIA driving around and hitting people sitting and walking on the sidewalk. They claim Ms Bijoux made no attempt to slow down and was driving around 30 and 35 mph during the attack.
No bail fund for her:
She is currently being held without bond in the Martin County Jail. On 21 March, the state's Supreme Court granted the Bar's request for an emergency suspension of Ms Bijoux. She had been a member of the Bar since 2016.
