You've never seen The Love Boat? Although, I think its run ended in 1986 so I guess that makes sense. And that show would never work in 79's America.
Battle of the Network Stars was another one of those shows that probably wouldn't work today. The networks would never let their 'stars' do something like that these days.

I'm going to Clockwork Orange my kids to make them watch this with me:
I remember watching that show all the time as a kid. But I don't actually remember the show, if that makes any sense. I'll probably check it out, but I won't torture my kids if they aren't interested.
