ESPN's FPI may be the worst ranking metric. It has "game control" and recruiting for the past 5 years as factors in the formula among other stupid things.

Who calls the mnf games? The patriots had the ball at the jets half yard line with 2 minutes left down by 7, and whoever it was asked if it’s definitely 4 down territory. The patriots scored on third down so I guess we’ll never know what they might have done.

That was Steve Levy. One of the dumbest things I've heard in a football game recently. He also claimed before the game that the Patriots are still alive in the division. I'd be OK if he got fired tonight.
