My thoughts on the zillion gameshows that are on tv right now:
The Chase: this show has potential! Big bonus in their favor, they do not spend an inordinate amount of time trying to get to know the players. I've seen one episode with each jeopardy champ and it is pretty funny to me that they knew they needed to stack the deck with good competitors when they faced Holzhauzer. I think he got two or 3 questions wrong in the final segment (when he was rushing to try to answer enough questions in time), but was otherwise perfect. The production values are stupid but that's a thing with all of these shows now. I assume if it wasn't Covid time they wouldn't put the champs way up on that tower, it is very awkward for the camera.
Weakest Link reboot: better than i thought it would be. I don't think i like the additional strategy that has developed this time around where people will target strong players to vote out, which causes strong players to intentionally throw rounds. Jane Lynch is not THAT bad.
The Wall: this show would be crack cocaine if they would just dial back the personal stories by 50%. A full hour of Plinko, put it in my veins.
Celebrity Wheel of Fortune: i like all the million dollar wedges, they should put more of them in the final round wheel too. Didn't think Wheel of Fortune would need to make the puzzles easier for celebrities but damn if they didn't make them easier and the celebrities still embarrass themselves. Enjoyable.
Celebrity Millionaire: Meh. I hate Jimmy Kimmel i think. The problem with this show has always been how long it is between questions and how much time they spend on each question when they finally get to one. At least if the celebrity is entertaining it can suck a little less, like Ray Romano was pretty funny as he decided what his answers would be.
The Hustler: didn't even make it through the intro. maybe it's good, idk, i have to MJ#s here, have not watched.
