Off the top of my head, 5 best announcer calls of all time. I'll keep it to my lifetime to get rid of stuff like "The Giants win the pennant!" and "Down goes Frazier!"
HM: "I don't believe what I just saw!" (tough to have 2 calls from the same play) "And there's a drive to deep left field by Castellanos"
5. "Go crazy, folks! Go crazy!"
4. "Yes sir!" --Specifically the Nicklaus putt in 86
3. "We'll see you tomorrow night!" --the original, not the knockoff by his kid, though that was a nice callback.
2. "In a year that has been so improbable, the impossible has happened!"
1. "Do you believe in miracles? YES!"
I actually think Buck's "I don't believe what I just saw" is better than Scully's.
This list looks right in total. The only two I might add:
The Stanford-Cal play "The Band is on the Field"
Verne's call of Tiger's chip in at Augusta might be better than "Yes sir!" "In your life have you ever seen anything like that?" The build up is just perfect.
HM is Gary Koch's call of Tiger's putt on the 17th green at Sawgrass, "Better than most, better than most, better than most!"
Yeah, I wavered on the Gibson HR, both probably deserve to be in the top 5. Scully announcing it for a Dodgers WS game just means more.
The other one that I've always thought was awesome was Gus Johnson's call right after Gonzaga barely survived in the tournament, before they were what they are now "The slipper still fits!"

I'm not a fan of most of those quotes. I think the measure of an announcer is when something out of the ordinary happens. Those golf and NCAA quotes all sound pre-prepared.
