SCOTUS just granted cert on the NCAA case about whether the NCAA can restrict athletes' earnings.
If they rule that the NCAA cannot, then good news! We will probably get a new NCAA football game. Bad news? A good chunk of college athletics probably disappears or becomes completely upended at the very least.

Does it mean that me and mj can (legally) start generating cash for our players?

I think that you guys got 3 of the top 10 guys in the country today so your current system seems to be working pretty well for you. It would be interesting to see how putting the spending out in the opening would potentially affect recruiting.

One of the things that OSU does well is selling that they will help you "build a brand", so they have definitely researched generating money.
In their recruiting announcements today, they included "Follow their platforms" links to players' IG and Twitter accounts. "Platforms" is interesting framing, to me.

Oklahoma is really cutting edge with that shit too. The biggest silver lining of Iowa's whole "oh we might be really racist here" scandal is removing the restrictions on social media for the team, because agreed that type of nonsense helps in the long run.

@byberkowitz Altogether, Alabama's and Ohio State's football assistants and top strength coaches are in line for about $5.1 million in bonuses for this season.
We do it for the love of amateur competition. LOL.
AND Fugly JENNINGS IS FUGLY!!!!! Awful White Female Liberal: Eat a dick kite
Everyone is strictly blaming the coaching or the LB on that play, but the free safety has to understand the match ups in front of him and be aware of the vertical. Especially when the Heisman winner is lining up.

Yeah the safety drifting to the other side of the field where 3 DBs were covering 2 WRs to leave 32 on an island against the Heisman Trophy winner was.... well...
in his prime Brian Urlacher ain't getting the depth to cover him there so why you leave your guy to do it....

There was a time when Iowa never played anything but a base 4-3 and this type of thing would happen all the freaking time. It changed when Phil Parker took over but for awhile it was brutal. CBs would give up 7 yard play after 7 yard play and then a slot guy would just go deep for 40 on some random linebacker. And Iowa was considered to have a good defense!
