Is there a bigger joke in broadcast news than Chris Cuomo?
I have a few that I think suck more, but he is horrible though. I tried watching him the other night and he was grasping at straws to bash Trump, Cruz, and cpac.
Worse than Chris Cuomo, I have the following:
Joy Reid Don Lemon Lawrence ODonnell Chris Hayes
I would list Maddow, but she's actually not atrocious.

I am amazed that people watch any of these cable news shows, liberal or conservative. Seems like a colossal waste of time, and I spend hours a day on a fledgling message board. Think about that.

CNN is a cliff dive from 7:00-11:00
Erin Burnett - fantastic :of:
Anderson Cooper - marginal
Chris Cuomo - wet, six-day old garbage
Don Lemon - the vomit on top of the garbage underneath a rotting corpse
Isn't it a little racist to call it Black Friday? - Joy Behar
There is no having a conversation with people like this. That article is about people self-censoring their everyday speech, not holding back from using racial slurs. They're afraid to voice beliefs such as "there are biological differences between men and women" or "you shouldn't teach kids that white people are inherently evil" because of the backlash they'll get from "the majority" in their particular area. This is happening on both sides, which I realize you're not allowed to say because reasons. On the internet and in places like NY and CA, people who don't hold radical left views have to be careful about saying anything that could even hint that you don't agree with the progressive cause. Where Jike lives, you probably have to bite your tongue before speaking out against Trump in public. None of this is OK. People shouldn't be fucking terrified to talk about politics or social issues, but that's where we are. There are extremists (both left and right), and there are people in the middle. The people in the middle should be allowed to have opinions without fear of retribution from the loudmouths on the fringes.
You try to have a conversation about that, and people like Joy Reid and whoever that other guy is come back at you with, "Sorry you don't get to say the N-word." How about go fuck yourself? No one normal wants to say the fucking N-word. We want to be able to say that maybe every white person isn't inherently racist, and maybe 16 years of male hormones gives you an unfair advantage playing basketball against girls. But you have no defense against these perfectly rational claims, so you move the goalposts and call us racists who just want freedom to use racial slurs. You're proving the very point this article is trying to make - namely, that if you don't self-censor you're gonna be called names and shamed into keeping your opinions to yourself. It's absolute lunacy.
I commented on this in the shoubox already, but after reading a bunch of the Twitter replies to that article, I have more thoughts for no one to reply to...
The vast majority of the replies are along the lines of "Waaaahhhh, I can't say whatever racist garbage pops into my stupid head!" or "We all self-censor; it's called being a decent person." There's some validity to the second point, obviously. Of course everyone has to self-censor to a certain extent. You shouldn't have the same discussions at work as you can in a bar; most people don't swear in front of their grandparents; don't use racial slurs; whatever example you want to plug in here. Of course she's not talking about any of those things, but no one cares what she's actually talking about. Could she have done a better job giving specific examples of the kinds of things people are afraid to say? Sure. But I thought this paragpraph was pretty well-said:
They are feminists who believe there are biological differences between men and women. Journalists who believe their job is to tell the truth about the world, even when it’s inconvenient. Doctors whose only creed is science. Lawyers who will not compromise on the principle of equal treatment under the law. Professors who seek the freedom to write and research without fear of being smeared. In short, they are centrists, libertarians, liberals and progressives who do not ascribe to every single aspect of the new far-left orthodoxy.
She's not talking about people who want to say "I hate black people and they think they should all go back to Africa." They all know that, but they don't care. They have no actual argument to make, because they know full well that she's right. In a lot of places (colleges, newsrooms, etc.) you are expected to say EXACTLY what the prevailing narrative of the moment tells you to say, or keep your damn mouth shut. She tries to point this out, and rather than even attempting to have a good faith discussion about it, they pivot to pretending that what she actually said was, "I want to say racist things." And then if you call them on their bullshit, they claim that it proves you're racist. It's an unwinnable argument, because they're not actually having an argument. They are actively silencing their opponents by pretending they said something they didnt' say. Which is why people feel the need to self-censor in the first place.
We're really doing fucking awesome as a society right now.

You will never convince me that allowing individuals born male should compete with high school females in sports. I also can't believe people logically believe that is anti-trans.
It is not a common issue, but maybe that is even more reason of why it should not be permitted.
