With Thad Matta as his boss in the administration? So odd. Kidnap Chris Beard at gunpoint. Shit, hiring Alford and dealing with the fallout would have been better

I think Chris Beard's set up to move to Texas with Shaka Smart going to Marquette. I know Shaka's from Wisconsin but that one still surprised me a little--even though he was one step ahead of the firing squad at Texas.
But yeah, Mike Woodson at IU. John Belein is still out there.
I looked up Chris Beard bc i wasnt sure who he was.
Two years ago, Beard signed a six-year deal worth $27.4 million that paid Beard over $5 million during the 2020-21 season before pandemic-related reductions. So if Texas does hire Beard, he could become the highest-paid coach on campus and remain in the top five nationally.
So he's making 5.5M a year. plus I am sure incentive bonuses.
What the frig would Texas be able to pay him? Its college hoops, here.

Texas has their own network imo so I'm sure they could find some extra money under a mattress or something.

The weird thing about Matta's role is that he is supposed to help build and maintain the program since Woodson doesn't have that experience, and Matta really failed at that down the stretch at Ohio State which led to his departure.
My in-depth analysis of Houston is that the crash the boards like crazy and I can't tell a single demonstrable thing that any of their players do particularly well outside of that.
My professional opinion is that Baylor is really good at passing. I fell asleep before halftime (hey, does anyone have any thoughts on whether the games should be played earlier?) and I feel like I said "what a pass" like 16 times. In fairness, a coupla tree of those were by Arkansas, too. But this team seems to move really well without the ball, and they're good at finding that open guy for a lot of uncontested buckets.

Baylor is pretty much positionless, super athletic, all of them move around, I've been very impressed. Baylor vs Gonzaga in the chip would be an awesome matchup. Hell, so would Baylor-Michigan.

Baylor's defense really pressures the ball. Seems like they were frustrating Arkansas ball handlers all night.
