So if I'm understanding correctly--Navy and Army are currently on pace to meet for the AAC conference championship in December (both are undefeated). The winner could very likely be into the playoffs as the highest ranked G5 conference champ. They will then pick the playoff teams that weekend. And then the play the Army Navy game the following weekend? Quite the system.

As much as I'd love for this to happen they both have to play Notre Dame at some point between now and then so I don't think they'll both get through the season unscathed.
Plus, I think Boise has the inside track to that G5 bid.

I think Boise would make it in over an undefeated Liberty but I don't think they'd get in over an undefeated service academy (agreed that ND would make this unlikely). If ND squeaks by one of them though and that's their only loss, then their resume becomes very similar to Boise. I think there would be a massive push to put an Academy into the playoffs if that happened.

The fly in the ointment would be if Jeanty is still the odds-on Heisman favorite in late November. Would they leave the Heisman winner out of the playoff?
This also reminds me of a tweet I saw over the weekend that I'll post about in the season thread.
